INKED | Christy from Novel Ink

For today's INKED post, I will be showing off my tattoos :)

Name: Christy

Website: Novel Ink

Tell us a little about yourself: I always suck at answering these types of questions, but I'll do my best.  My name is Christy and I'm 27 years old.  I'm married to my high school sweetheart, Jesse, and we have 2 beautiful kids, Landon who is 8 and Shyann who is 1 1/2.  I'm currently in Nursing School (I'm done in July!!!) so between school and the kids, I don't have a lot of free time, but when I do, you can find me with a book in my hands or on the computer blogging.

When did you get your first tattoo? My first tattoo is the dolphins (sorry, I didn't get a very good picture, it's on my back) and I got it when I was 18 years old.  My best friend and I went together and we got our tattoos at the same time.

When did you get your last tattoo? I'm not sure of the month, but it was sometime in 2014.  It's the quote - For those I love, I will sacrifice.

Do you have a favorite? Of course, I have to say the ones of my kids names, but other than those, I'm going to say the quote.  It reminds me that everything I'm doing or everything that I have suffered through is for my family.

Is there a special meaning behind any of your tattoos? Once again, I have to say the ones with my kids names.  But also the infinity symbol, my husband and I got them for our 7th wedding anniversary, and of course the quote that I mentioned above.

Are you planning on getting anymore? I'm honestly not sure as of right now, but I absolutely love this ;)

Tell us a little about your blog: I started this blog back in June of 2012, back then it was called Christy's Book Addiction.  My main reason for starting the blog was to have somewhere to go to talk about my love for books since I don't know of anyone in real life that reads, or if they do, they don't have the addiction that I do.  It wasn't something that was thought out, I didn't do a ton of research beforehand, and I didn't realize how much work it would actually be.  But I absolutely fell in love with it.  I've had a few slumps over the years, once when I got pregnant with my daughter (morning sickness sucks) and I slowed down a lot once I started Nursing School back in September of 2013.  I actually thought about giving it up, school was getting harder, to the point where I actually had to quit work, and I just didn't know how I was going to keep it up.  But then I found Erica (who is amazing BTW), and I found that I had a lot more time since I wasn't working anymore and here we are.

Is there anything that you would like to add? I hope you all enjoy this feature and I hope you check back each week because we have some amazing guests for you all!

Thanks for the awesome giveaway. I really love those small infinity signs... they are kind of freaking adorable and even though I know I'm probably not allowed to get a tattoo, that looks like one I will get in the near future when I'm older. I love these Inked posts! They are so original, and that's one the main reasons I love the blog- creativity and originality!

I love all your tattoos, Christy! And it's kind of funny that my two tattoos resemble two of yours in a way, even if they're not exactly the same :D I love the bookish tattoo you're thinking of getting. It's really cool.
Keep up the great work, I'm sure you'll do well with your nursing school and that you'll be really happy once you get your diploma in July. It's really quite hard to study and raise a family at the same time, but it's totally possible. You can do it!

I love the bookish one, it very well may be my next :)

Thanks, Lexxie! It just seems so impossible sometimes, especially as things get harder and aren't going as well.
I love the matching tattoos! I wanted to get the infinity on that same finger but on the side with my fiance :D Great minds think alike ;) I love your kids tattoos. They were done so effin well! And I would totally get the flying books either on my arm or on my shoulder. Love your tats, Christy!!

Thanks for the awesome giveaway!!
Ahhh! Not long until you're finished with Nursing School, congrats! :D They look really good, the books one would look great as a tattoo too. :D I've been wanting to get an infinity symbol for ages but every time I went I always changed my mind. :( But, I'm thinking this year on my wrist, or lyrics or a quote somewhere else (see? I can never decide). My last one was 3 years ago now (I think) since I started giving blood. I love browsing through my tattooists portfolio, even when I'm not looking for myself, so such a great feature to show off tattoos. :)

I love your tattoos! Especially the dolphins and the infinity sign (: I've just turned 18 so am thinking about getting one, but want to make sure it's something I really love before I commit. Thanks for the inspiration!
Aw, this is so fun! I love the tattoos for your kids. I have been wanting to do something like that, but I am not 100% sure of what I want, so of course, I will wait! I love the quote too, and that is SO sweet that you and your husband got those tattoos :)
