10 Authors We Need to Read

Erica's Authors to Read

We all have so many books that just compile our TBR, but mostly what I have been noticing on my TBR are the authors that I have not gotten to read, yet. There are so many authors that I just haven't gotten to yet, and I know that many of you will see them and totally judge me. Anyway, I know I need to get around to reading a lot of these - a lot of them are highly recommended by Christy (cause she's the best).

Jennifer L. Armentrout

Tahereh Mafi

Veronica Roth

Marie Lu

Jeaniene Frost

Christy's Authors to Read

I'm kind of ashamed to put some of these authors on here because I know a lot of them are well known and well loved but unfortunately, I just haven't had the opportunity to pick any of their books up to read.  But I hope to read at least one book by each of the authors below this year!

Brandon Sanderson

Patrick Ness

Megan Shepherd

Ally Carter

Amy Harmon

Now it's your turn!

Have you read any of these authors?  What are some authors that you haven't read anything by?

Erica is a 20 year old college student and book lover. When she’s done with studying she’ll always want to relax with a book, of any kind. If she’s not reading she could be caught up in her latest Netflix series or lost in a conversation with her spectacular boyfriend.

I haven't read any Tahereh Mafi books either. I'm working on changing that!! Amy Harmon's Making Faces is really good! I hope you pick it up :D

I've been eyeing Harmon's The Law of Moses, but I'll definitely check out Making Faces :)
Marie Lu and Amy Harmon are also on my list of "to-read-authors". Their books are very popular but for some reason I have never been too eager to pick them up. Hopefully it will change this year :)

I've been thinking of getting Harmon's The Law of Moses, I've heard such great things about it.
It's horrible how many of these are on my TBR list haha! I really have to read a JLA book one of these days. Same with Brandon Sanderson! They just have so many books, I'd have no idea where to start. ><

I agree, there's is just SO many books out there that I want to read and it sucks when some much loved authors fall through the cracks. But I hope to at least read a few from my list this year :)
There are some on the list I have for sure read and others not so much. Working on some of these like Brandon Sanderson. My hubby is a big fan of his. I have Steelheart coming up soon. Some of my must read authors.. hmm Stephanie Kuehn, Nova Ren Suma, and Melissa Marr.

I've heard such great things about Sanderson, especially the Steelheart books, I'm hoping to get around to reading them this year.
Erica, I've read two of JLA's, the first Lux book, which I I'm still torn about, and Don't Look Back, which hell yes, because thriller. ;) I've only read Tahereh Mafi's Shatter Me, haven't finished the series yet. 2/2 isn't bad.

Ha! Christy, I've only read Ally Carter out of your list, so I'm right with you there. BUT YOU NEED TO READ AN ALLY CARTER, I haven't read the Heist Society books, though everyone seems to love them. Read the first three of the Gallagher Girls series and SO FUN, and girl power. But, got to say, I think All Fall Down's become my favourite. So. Good.

All of the authors I would've put, Stephanie Perkins, Sarah J. Maas, Rick Riordan, Kasie West and Lauren Oliver, I managed to sneak in before 2015.

Don't Look Back is amazing! You have to read that one when you get the chance :D

All Fall Down is on my wishlist, I think it's a great one to start off with!
Veronica Roth was great for the first book. The second one was meh and Allegiant, I DNF-ed. It wasn't for me and I was so disappointed. I haven't finished the Shatter Me trilogy and it's one of those that I'm putting on hold [more because there are a lot of other books that come out this year that have caught my attention!]

Also Marie Lu. That is DEFINITELY on my TBR. It's just one of those books <3

wow I haven't read any except megan shepherd and PART of Obsidian by JLA... that book was just too Twilight for me :( I would also like to read Veronica Roth and Patrick Ness too!!
I am ashamed to admit that some of these I still need to read as well and yes, I think most of them, if not all of them, I own a book by them as well. So many books, so little time...

I think Tarryn Fisher is another author that needs to be read. She doesn't write YA but rather adult and NA but her books are fabulous!
Oh my goodness glad I'm not the only one that is bad at reading books from really popular authors lol! The only authors on this list I HAVE read from is JLA and J Frost! :O
Erica, JLA is amazing! Get on with the Lux series ASAP!!!
Christy, I have read the Gallagher Girls series and let's keep in mind I read it in middle school/high school and I loved it. Idk why but my favorite book of the series is Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy (the first book is slow and boring). You too, get on with reading. Chop chop, both of you :D love you both.

Christy, off you go now to read Patrick Ness. And Erica, how have you managed to skip the Divergent, Shatter Me, AND Legend series?!

For me? I haven't read JLA either. And to be honest, I am not sure how interested I am? None of the books really appeal to me that much. Same with Brandon Sanderson. I DO need to read Rainbow Rowell (I've read her short story in MTLGTM, but none of her books even though I own ALL of them), Laini Taylor (again, I own 'em!) Sarah Fine, Morgan Matson... So many, really!

Erica: How have you not read JLA???? Tehereh Mafi???? Veronica Roth? Marie Lu? I'm totally judging. :) I'm actually a bit jealous, to be honest, because it means you have some amazing books to read!!! The Covenant series is my favorite of JLA's, although it is hard to choose.

Christy: Ok, I haven't read any of your authors either except for Brandon Sanderson. So no judging from me. Mistborn trilogy was AMAZING. I read all three in about three days. I was bleary-eyed, but it was totally worth it.
