INKED | Author Mark Cathcart

Posted on Thursday, April 16, 2015 12:00 AM

Guys, join me in welcoming, Mark Cathcart to the blog today.

Name: M. K. Cathcart

Tell us a little about yourself: I'm a 29 year old living in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. At the moment I work in a call centre but I'm in my last year of an Electrical Installation apprenticeship. I've also worked as a debt collector, tattoo artist, teddy bear (children's entertainer) and various other things. I have a cockapoo called Ruby and I have tattoos from the top of my head to the top of my toes...and I like Sci-Fi.

When did you get your first tattoo? I got my first tattoo 10 years ago. A Descendents (band) tattoo on my leg. Still one of my favourites.

When did you get your last tattoo?  I got my last tattoo about a year ago (back piece outlined)...and it hurt like hell so I'm putting it on hold for a while. I wouldn't wish that pain on anyone.

Is there a special meaning behind any of your tattoos? I tried to have at least half a story behind most of my tattoos but the one with the 'most special meaning' would a penguin that I got tattoo'd for my wife (she likes penguins).

Are you planning to get anymore? I have a full chest, stomach, back, arms, half my head (which my hair hides well) and patches of my leg, so the only real room I have left is my ribs and they'll be done soon enough, I'm sure.

Tell us a little about your books/blog: The Fugazi of Room 39. Here's the blurb (because it's easier): A second, recondite Korea War has killed millions and left a billion others in a fate far worse. Oblivious to this all, Jesse Nolan wakes up to yet another unremarkable day as a Detective in the famously crime free, Los Angeles Police Department. However, that’s all about to change. As the first murder in living memory is thrust upon him to investigate, inconceivable events lead to previously unimaginable actions, as this futurist utopia quickly erodes in front of him to reveal something much more sinister; Room 39.

Anything else that you would like to add? Thanks, Mark.

Thanks for stopping by today, Mark! We enjoyed seeing your ink! I cannot wait to get to reading The Fugazi of Room 39 - so you guys, keep an eye out for my review to be coming soon!

Tell us a little about yourself: I have been blogging since 2009. I have 4 kids. I am a nurse and I live in the frozen north. I love reading, and I love blogging. I run the round up sites hedovibes.com and readthis.us. I started the round ups to help my fellow bloggers get more traffic and exposure. I keep doing them because I want to have a finger one the pulse of what is happening across the review scene. I love blogs and subscribe to a ton of them.

Please welcome today's INKED guest, Lauren from Bookmark Lit!

Name: Lauren from Bookmark Lit
Tell us a little about yourself: Hello! I started up Bookmark Lit back in July because I wanted to connect with other readers and share my thoughts on the different books I read. I mostly read YA, especially contemporaries, but am trying to get back into some fantasy and paranormal. I love books about time travel and parallel universes! Other than reading, I'm obsessed with the Carolina Panthers and football. My friends don't try to make plans with me on Sundays/Mondays/Thursdays during football season.

Please welcome today's guest, author Katie Young!

Name: Katie Young

Website: www.katieyoungauthor.com

Tell us a little about yourself: My name is Katie. I am the author of the dark paranormal novel, The Other Lamb. I also write short stories, film and TV reviews for an entertainment site called The Cult Den, and I’m writing a second book. By day, I work for a well-known children’s TV channel, in the original programming department. I love music and I love to sing. I still haven’t quite accepted the fact that I will never front a world famous rock band. I’m learning to hula-hoop with an eye to doing it with fire one day. My to-do list is too long and my days too short. I live in South East London with my partner of twelve years. Luckily, he doesn’t seem to mind that I spend more time with my imaginary friends than with him!

INKED | Author Scott Addington

For today's INKED post, please welcome author, Scott Addington!

Name: Scott Addington
Website: www.scottaddington.com
Tell us a little about yourself: Although I write history, I am not a historian, I am trying to open up history to new audiences as I am of the opinion that many (most) history books are written by academics for other academics and not for the average man/woman/child in the street. I would like to think that my books are short, sharp and to the point as well as written in an engaging and entertaining way.

Please welcome Author Heather Marie!

Name: Heather Marie
Tell us a little about yourself: I'm a young adult author represented by Danielle Smith at Red Fox Literary. I write mainly supernatural horror/thrillers and enjoy every second. My first book The Gateway Through Which They Came is out now, and the sequel The Gateway of Light and Darkness releases April 13th, 2015. I'm your typical author who tends to spend most of her time reading, or hanging out with her cat. My husband tolerates my antisocial personality just fine. I'm obsessed with Ghost Adventures and swear to myself I will meet Zak and Aaron one of these days. I'm still super heartbroken over Nick Groff leaving, but let's not talk about that. As for tattoos? Yeah. I got a few.

Tell us a little about yourself: I'm a forty-something mom of four who went back to uni a few years ago (about the same time I was really starting to use Goodreads in fact) and I got my BA in English language and literature, and General Linguistics in September 2014. Now I'm working on my MA degree, and having fun with that.
I started blogging in June 2014, and I love having a little place on the internet where I can chat about books and other things that go on in my life. I have been married for almost 20 years (in June) to the love of my life, and he's the reason why I got my first tattoo - and he has the same one.

Tell us a little about yourself:

Hello! I'm Samantha. Between being an English major, a blogger, a reviewer, and an intern at a literary agency and publishing company, about 75% of my time is spend reading, which I love. :) The other 25% is made up of Netflix binging, sleeping, social media-ing (particularly pinning tattoos on my Pinterest board), more sleeping, and hanging out with my best friend and roommate (without whom I probably wouldn't have a social life at all).

INKED | Erica from Novel Ink

Posted on Thursday, January 1, 2015 12:00 AM

Name: Erica
Website: Novel Ink
Tell us a little about yourself: I really am never good at this. I always think I over share when I write my introductions into groups or just talk about myself. I ramble...kind of like I am now. Annnnnyway, I am Erica as you all know from the first question. I am twenty years young and I am going to school to major in Accounting. I absolutely love books, although, recently is when I turned my reading gears on. I always wanted a blog and I started my own, but I found Christy (thank goodness) and we became co-bloggers. I absolutely love watching Netflix (Criminal Minds, Supernatural, Grey's Anatomy and Ghost Whisperer). Okay, my rambling rant is over :)
